The Pro-Kids Golf Academy is a golf program that strives to keep kids "off the streets and onto the fairways." This is a national program that allows different communities to get involved. STAR/PAL partners with American Golf and outside contributors to complete this three-phase program. The first phase involves teaching kids the fundamentals of playing golf through the instruction of golf pros at the Colina Park Golf Course in San Diego. The second phase allows participants to play a round of golf at Colina’s 18-hole course. STAR/PAL participates in the third phase of this program recruiting volunteers from the law enforcement community. This phase includes mentoring kids and giving them the opportunity to play local San Diego courses by providing instruction and transportation.
